WELCOME TO UNITED HOUSING CO-OPERATIVE
United Housing Co-operative (UHC) is a not-for-profit community housing provider, operating in the Inner-Western and North-Western suburbs of Melbourne. Our primary goal is to provide affordable housing for low-income singles, couples and families who are in need of affordable housing. Our Co-operative model seeks to empower tenant/members and build connected communities and includes informal support networks and engagement activities for our tenant/members.
UHC manages Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) owned properties in the municipalities of Brimbank, Darebin, Hobsons Bay, Maribrynong, Moonee Valley and Wyndham City. UHC is also in the process of developing its own property portfolio and is seeking to expand the ownership of properties in its own right.
UHC is a member based organisation, where the membership collectively share responsibility for the governance and ongoing existence of the co-operative. We adhere to the International Co-operative Principles to create a community for members that bases itself on equality, stability and empowerment.
